Scents, Flavours, Friendship

Scents, flavours, friendship…

Some time in the autumn, perhaps in September, I won a consultation in an entrepreneurs’ group with Anikó Mátrainé Tasnádi, an essential oils specialist. At the time, I did not have the opportunity to organise a face-to-face meeting, so Anikó called me online instead. From the very first moment, a warm, friendly and approachable mum was speaking to me from the other end of the line. She shared a great deal of interesting information and personal experience with me about essential oils.

I have long loved essential oils myself, and before my children were born I used them frequently in a diffuser. Later, when the children were small, I did not dare to use them, as I did not consider it safe, and I gradually stopped—until a few years ago, when these wonderful scents came back into my life. The first thing I replaced was synthetic fabric softener, and I have been washing this way ever since. During our conversation, it also turned out that Anikó is not only knowledgeable about oils, but is also involved in fairy tale therapy, which has interested me for quite some time, although I have not yet trained in it. Our first conversation was conducted in a lovely atmosphere, and even then we agreed that we would continue in person.

Since then, we have exchanged messages several times. Between the holidays, when I was not feeling particularly well and Anikó noticed this in passing in one of my posts, she immediately wrote to me, asking what was wrong and whether she could help. I replied, and she offered to send me a few essential oils that might be beneficial. Just imagine— the very next morning the courier rang the bell and delivered the promised essences. That evening I added a single drop to my water, and by morning it was as if I had been completely renewed. That was the moment when I became certain that we needed to meet in person as soon as possible.

This Wednesday, that finally happened. I spent a delightful morning with Anikó, who welcomed me with a cup of delicious tea, heavenly homemade coconut truffles (credit goes to her husband), and an abundance of kindness. We had a wonderful conversation—not only about oils, but also about our children, our vocations, entrepreneurship, psychology and coaching. I was impressed by the breadth of her knowledge; she immediately knew what could be supported with what. She even had suggestions regarding my younger son’s hyperactivity, which I will be trying soon, and I am curious to see the changes.

In the end, my Színes Hangulatok – Colourful Moods cards also came out, which Anikó admired one by one, and finally selected two of them, sparking wonderful associations within her.

In the future, I plan to incorporate the use of oils alongside my soul-lifting, supportive processes, because although I believed it before, I am now absolutely certain that, as a complement to coaching, they can also help emotional wounds to fade away.
